To further encourage academic performance, the Alpha Epsilon chapter of Sigma Chi has established a system of incentives for extraordinary achievement. Success in the classroom is important, but we also believe it is equally important to be a well rounded student, involved with the community and university and consistently pursuing betterment of one's self.
As a result, we have developed a per semester scholastic incentive program that is aligned with the Seven Standards on which our Fraternity was founded.
A Man of Good Character
Complete 15 hours of community service (Individually or with the Fraternity as a whole)
A Student of Fair Ability
Obtain a Semester GPA of 3.2 (minimum 12 credit hours required) AND obtain an all house GPA of 2.9 (achievement for all or achievement for none)
With Ambitious Purposes
Submit your resume for editing through career services or the house parent.
Complete a strengths assessment with the house parent.
A Congenial Disposition
Attend 4 Philanthropic functions (Individually or with the Fraternity as a whole)
Obtain membership in at least one on-campus organization other than Sigma Chi
Possessed of Good Morals
Contribute at least 3 test documents to the test file
Having a High Sense of Honor
Attend 75% of Sigma Chi Chapter functions and brotherhood events
Satisfactorily carry out your duties as a pledge father (if applicable)
Complete a study monitoring shift
Contribute to one committee regularly
and A Deep Sense of Personal Responsibility
Complete 90% of duties assigned by the house manager
Complete a lunch help shift
Awards
$250 in scholarship to those who achieve 6 standards
$500 in scholarship to those who achieve all 7 standards
$750 in scholarship to those who achieve all 7 standards and earn a semester GPA of 3.8
