Sigma Chi is unique among Greek organizations. Not only have we grown for over 150 years through wars, depressions, and dramatic changes in the college scene, but we have also remained true to the Seven Ideals given to us by our founders, and the Three Great Aims of our fraternity - friendship, justice, and learning. They are the glue that binds us together and the rallying cry that pushes us to personally ascend to greater heights.

What a weekend! Thanks again to all coaches and team members that competed in Derby Days 2016, and anyone that helped out (especially the magnificent Derby Days chairman Bobby Colin Hill) . A couple of us threw this video together as a highlight of the whole competition. After we count each team's clothing drive contribution, we will be announcing the winner of #DerbyDays2k16 tonight at house announcements!
The Alpha Epsilon brothers were honored with a Peterson Significant Chapter Award on August 1st at the Balfour leadership Training Workshop in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Peterson Significant Chapter Award, sponsored annually by the Sigma Chi Foundation, is the highest honor that the Fraternity bestows upon an undergraduate chapter. Named for 38th Grand Consul J. Dwight Peterson, INDIANA 1919, the award recognizes excellent, but not impossible, performance by chapters in all major areas of operation and programming. For many years, the Peterson plaque has been a symbol of dedication, idealism and achievement.
This is the eighth time that Alpha Epsilon has won this award, and the first one since 2002. Eight brothers represented the chapter at BLTW and were honored with the award at the closing ceremony.
It is hard to believe it, but the 2014-15 academic year at UNL is about to end. It has been a jam-packed year at 1510 Vine and one that bears witness to our hard-earned momentum. Alpha Epsilon’s full reinstatement by the University on May 1, 2014, has been a major boost and one the Chapter guards carefully, especially in this particularly difficult media environment for Greeks across the country. The house is filling up nicely, with 35 members living in this spring term. We fully expect that our goal of being at capacity will be realized next fall. Once again, the alumni involvement and support in rebuilding the house has paid off handsomely as we enjoy a high-quality, first-rate Chapter House that our undergraduates value.

Last week, on Wednesday March 11th, Alpha Epsilon member Thien Chau ('16) was elected by his peers as the Association of Students of the University of Nebraska (ASUN) President for the 2015-16 school year.
The Daily Nebraskan article announcing Chau's victory can be found here.
This is a massive accomplishment both for Thien personally, and for the chapter collectively, and is yet another indicator of the continued progress being made at 1510 Vine. The chapter is attracting and developing excellent young men who a... more
